In many parts of Europe there is widespread public concern about the apparent lack of fear shown by some wolves living in human-dominated landscapes. These wolves are generally referred to as "bold wolves". Although there is little evidence that these wolves pose a threat to human safety there is often a debate about how to manage them. To assist wildlife managers in making decision, the LCIE have developed a policy support statement on The Management of Bold Wolves which aims to provide some general guidance.
