Understanding stakeholders and the conflicts they experience with large carnivores

Author: John Linnell/Friday, March 22, 2013/Categories: News

A set of new reports attempt to summarise the recent insights that have come from the social sciences into our understanding of the conflicts associated with large carnivore conservation, as well as providing an outline of some of the potential measures that can be taken to alleviate, prevent, reduce or mitigate these conflicts. The focus is on how different stakeholder groups experience the conflicts, and potential solutions, in different ways. The project was funded by the European Union's DG Environment.

Report 1: A review of conflict dimensions and potential approaches to resolution.

Report 2: A report from a stakeholder workshop held in Brussels in January 2013
